Stuart remained in the Department of Chemistry as a lecturer and researcher, and author of chemistry textbooks, until his retirement in 2006. Head of Department Dr James Keeler says: "It is hard to overestimate Stuart's influence on generations of chemists, both here in Cambridge and well beyond.
The Chemistry Department sits at an intellectual and physical nexus of the basic sciences, engineering, and medicine at Stanford. In addition to conducting our own forms of exciting research, our natural synergies with the other sciences have led our faculty and students into fascinating exchanges and collaborative projects across disciplines.
The Department of Chemistry (DTU Chemistry) perform research, education and innovation at a high level within e.g. energy, Life Science, catalysis, and materials. DTU Chemistry's goal is to contribute with new knowledge about basic scientific problems and carry out research with vast application perspectives - to the benefit of both society and companies.

Research in the Stone Group combines analytical, environmental, and organic chemistry to advance our understanding of the chemical composition and sources of atmospheric particulate matter. We use chromatography and mass spectrometry to improve measurements of atmospheric pollutants and source apportionment techniques to link pollution to its sources.

I attended college at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, where I completed by B. A. in Chemistry with ACS Certification. I came to Vanderbilt University in 2012 through the Department and joined the Stone Lab in the Spring of 2013. I am interested in deducing the structural effects and chemistry of DNA damage through NMR Spectroscopy.

Professor Stone has now retired from his university position Although chemistry is concerned largely with reactions in which bonds are broken and reformed, the forces between unreacting molecules and fragments of molecules are often of great importance, for example in controlling the way in which protein molecules fold into their biologically-active structures.
Our department offers a rich variety of opportunities and resources. I think you will find the Department of Chemistry at Penn State to be an exceptionally exciting, welcoming, and inclusive place and we hope that you can visit and explore the many opportunities here.
